This Is Me

Hello friends and fellow technology geeks and welcome to my home on the Internet! I’ll leave it to you to figure out which of the two pictures above is the author of this site. I’m sure some of the writing will make you wonder 🙂

I’m Tim Kitchens and I’ve developed software and led development teams for both commercial and government clients since 1995. Although I have a love for technology itself, my driving passion is how we can learn to balance technology with our collective experience and wisdom in applying and managing it.

Although there are many, many blogs on every imaginable topic related to technology (or any other topic you can think of really), no one of us has had exactly the same experience or traveled exactly the same path. And that means that we each can bring a unique perspective in some area that may be beneficial to at least one other person out there. I have two main objectives in publishing my own blog:

  1. I hope you will find something here that will answer a question that you have (maybe in a concrete “how to” article) or, even better, that you will find something that may cause you to open to a new perspective on some topic or ponder a question that’s never occurred to you, and
  2. Writing helps me to clarify my own thoughts and ideas and also to flush out and question my own underlying assumptions. And, while I’m at it, I may as well add to the Internet fodder, right?

I also believe that I have an opportunity to learn from you, so please comment on blog posts and send me suggestions. As this site grows, I hope that you will find something that will help you in your technical work or maybe even in your life in general.

Thanks for visiting!
